Dr. Jessica Payne-Murphy, PhD is Director of the Insomnia and Behavioral Sleep Medicine Clinic in the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology in the UF College of Public Health and Health Professions. Before joining the faculty team, she completed her postdoctoral fellowship and internship in clinical health psychology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. She received her doctorate in clinical health psychology at the University of Colorado Denver.
Although the emphasis of Dr. Payne-Murphy’s clinical work is primarily behavioral sleep medicine for adults and children, she addresses a broad spectrum of mental health and chronic illness concerns in her clinic. Chronic pain, fibromyalgia, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and depression are several of these. She conducts and teaches evidence-based mental health and behavioral sleep medicine therapies and assessment to doctoral trainees. Her clinical work is conducted both at the UF Health Sleep Center and the UF Psychology Clinic.
