Brandon Peters, M.D., is board-certified in both neurology and sleep medicine and currently practices at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle. He is also a clinical affiliate at Stanford University's School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He has worked in sleep medicine since college with extensive clinical and research experiences in the field.

Dr. Peters worked in clinical sleep medicine and was trained as a polysomnographic technician prior to starting medical school. His published research includes study of the sleep habits of university students, circadian rhythm disorders in the blind, abnormal sleep behaviors called parasomnias, and sleep ethics. He was an award-winning journalist in college. His extensive sleep-related writing includes more than 1000 articles on Verywell.com, book chapters, and countless other contributions. He lectures internationally on sleep, frequently appears on radio programs and in other media, and works as a business consultant for related industries.

Dr. Peters received a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and English from Seattle Pacific University. He also studied medieval and Renaissance literature at Oxford University in England. As noted, Dr. Peters received polysomnographic training to become a sleep technologist at the Swedish Sleep Medicine Institute in Seattle. He went on to receive his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. He completed his neurology residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He did his sleep medicine fellowship at Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif., viewed internationally as the world's leading training program for sleep disorders medicine. He was additionally trained at Stanford as a practitioner of cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBTI). He is the creator and author of the Insomnia Solved program.
