The foundation of Greg Roussett's practice began with an intensive psycho-dynamic training internship in 2005 at the prestigious Menninger Clinic, a top-ranked inpatient psychiatric pavilion in Houston, Texas (US News Report 2019). He became a lead in the care of clients at Menninger's exclusive 'Professionals in Crisis' department. Utilizing a multi-modal psycho-therapeutic approach, he helped athletes, pilots, physicians, tech entrepreneurs and other professionals gain new found skills to navigate the challenges in their lives.
After graduating from University of California San Francisco (UCSF) in 2010, he became a lead provider for a 6-member care team with the Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center and provided psychiatry and psychotherapy services with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians. During his tenure at the VA, he became nationally certified in CBT-I and adapted the intervention in group format for Veterans with the primary care integrated behavioral team. He was one of two providers that had the clinical expertise in managing insomnia through CBT-I and was the 'go to' provider for referrals.
In his last two years prior to his departure from the VA, he was selected and became the Psychiatric NP residency director in affiliation with UCSF. He transformed the curriculum for this newly developed residency program at the time and ensured imbedding CBT-I into both the didactic seminars and clinical experience for the next generation of psychiatric providers that were under his direction.
He is currently in private practice at the Rockridge Wellness Center in Oakland, CA. In addition to seeing clients in his practice, he is also an National Institute of Health (NIH) funded sleep researcher investigating health outcomes of individuals who experience sleep disturbances.
