Stephanie Silberman, Ph.D., DABSM, FAASM, is a Licensed Psychologist who is a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
She is active in professional organizations and legislative activities affecting psychology and sleep disorders, including two terms as president of the Broward Chapter of the Florida Psychological Association and past co-chair of the Legislative Affairs and Public Policy Board for FPA.
She has appeared on television news and in national magazines regarding sleep-related issues.
Her book, The Insomnia Workbook: A Comprehensive Guide to Getting the Sleep You Need, is not only a self-help guide for people with insomnia, but also a useful reference tool for health-care professionals. It has been translated into Korean, Danish, and Spanish.
As a sleep specialist, Dr. Silberman evaluates and treats a variety of sleep disorders including insomnia, circadian rhythm disorders, sleep onset association disorders, restless legs syndrome, obstructive sleep apnea, and other sleep disorders. As a clinical psychologist, she treats depression, panic attacks, generalized anxiety disorder, social phobia, bereavement, postpartum depression, PTSD, relationship problems, and coping with chronic illness.
