Amanda (Mandy) Salter New! Featured
I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist with over 20 years’ experience supporting adults to return to, remain in, or regain employment following mental health difficulties, neurological injury and long-term health conditions. My practice is firmly rooted in vocational rehabilitation, with a focus on enabling sustainable participation in work, education and meaningful life roles.
Alongside my core occupational therapy training, I deliver psychotherapeutically informed occupational therapy, integrating evidence-based psychological approaches within a practical, person-centred and occupation-focused framework. This allows therapeutic work to address not only emotional distress, but also confidence, identity, function, routines and participation in everyday life.
I have undertaken specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and accept referrals in this area.
My work integrates principles and techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, coaching approaches, mindfulness and relaxation techniques. It is also informed by lived experience of neurodiversity and of returning to work following significant physical trauma earlier in my career. This strengthens my understanding of recovery, adjustment, confidence and vocational identity, and informs a compassionate, evidence-based approach.
