I am a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist having qualified in 2010 with a Masters degree. The focus of my private practice is on improving quality of life and one of the most impactful occupations for this is sleep. I spent nearly 9 years working in the National Health Service with specialism in neurology before moving to work in private practice. I am also trained in Health Coaching which I combine with my Occupational Therapy approach to support adults to live a healthy, fulfilled life through sleep and lifestyle interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia.
Sleep is fundamental to health, wellbeing and daytime functioning. Quality sleep is associated with improved mood, cognitive function, physical performance and life satisfaction as well as lowering risk for conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and dementia. As someone who always considered themself a poor sleeper and having experienced sleep problems first hand, I understand the impact in can have on your life and those around you. I rarely suffer with sleep problems now and want to support others to improve their sleep and live the life they were meant to.
I am available for new clients and offer CBT-I online throughout the United Kingdom, European Union and Australia via video call.
