I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (IA), Licensed Professional Counselor–Mental Health (SD) and a Licensed Addiction Counselor (SD) with 30 years of experience, specializing in addiction, depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma. In recent years, I have completed extensive training in sleep disorders and have become particularly passionate about providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and Imagery Rehearsal Therapy for Nightmares (IRT). These evidence-based interventions are highly effective—often producing meaningful improvements in about two months—and provide long-term benefits that can serve as an alternative to medication for many clients.
I am among the first in the nation to earn the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia Credential (CBTI-C) from the Board of Behavioral Sleep Medicine. I look forward to offering these interventions with fidelity at my newly established outpatient practice, SleepWell Counseling. In-person services available in the Sioux Falls, SD office and telehealth throughout South Dakota and Iowa. I hope this can offer some in-person service options especially for western Iowa individuals near the SD border.
