Jamie Schumpf

Dr. Schumpf is a certified Diplomate and recognized Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (A-CBT) specializing in the treatment of anxiety, mood disorders, and sleep disorders. Trauma, relationship issues, problems with assertiveness, coping with medical illness, and women’s health concerns are also among her areas of focus.

Dr. Jamie Schumpf earned her doctorate (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology at Yeshiva University, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Montefiore Medical Center and her post-doctoral fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill-Cornell Medical College.

In recognition of her contributions to the field, Dr. Schumpf has been named a Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies, the international credentialing body of CBT. In December 2022, she was voted President Elect of the Academy.

In addition to her practice, Dr. Schumpf serves as the Director of Clinical Training and Clinical Associate Professor at Yeshiva University, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. She is also an adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical College, where she teaches and supervises psychology interns and psychiatry residents. There she was named the psychology internship program's 2014 Teacher of the Year.

Dr. Schumpf has been involved in various research projects, most recently as a cognitive therapist on a multi-site randomized controlled trial for the treatment of panic disorder and as an investigator on a federally funded grant to provide training for graduate students in the treatment of severe and persistent mental illness. She has presented her work at national conferences and has given numerous seminars and workshops on CBT and sleep disorders.

From 2016 to 2020, Dr. Schumpf served as editor of Advances in Cognitive Therapy, a joint publication of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies and the International Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy. In August 2020, she was elected to a two-year term as President of the New York City-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Association. She now serves on the leadership team as Past President.
