*****************
Lisa Strauss is a licensed psychologist in private practice in the Boston area and a contributing columnist for the Washington Post. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, where she attended on a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. Lisa specializes in the cognitive-behavioral treatment of sleep disorders, and subspecializes in the anxious insomniac and disorders of circadian rhythms. She has worked with several thousand sleep patients over the years, often integrating principles gleaned from her other practice: psychotherapy with adults. Her philosophy is that what really matters is what works for someone in all their individuality. Lisa completed her internship in clinical psychology at Beth Israel Hospital and Harvard Medical School. For several years, she was director of psychology at the Sleep Disorders Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
