Bronwen Wheeler Rankin Featured
Dr. Rankin earned her B.A. in Psychology at Rice University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from George Mason University. Before beginning clinical work, Dr. Rankin conducted cognitive and developmental psychology research. She interned at Virginia Treatment Center for Children, Medical College of Virginia, treating children and adolescents in day, residential, and acute settings. Dr. Rankin has worked with a variety of adult and child clients at community mental health agencies, inpatient settings, and in private practice. She has supervised doctoral level students and interns in a university clinic and a psychiatric hospital. Dr. Rankin has extensive past experience with psychological and psycho-educational evaluations, and testing in schools, which informs her current psychotherapy work with children, adolescents and adults. She was intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in 2004, retrained in DBT in 2019, participated in intensive training in DBT-Child and DBT-PE involving Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD. Dr. Rankin is a Certified DBT Clinician, through the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification™. In 2023 and 2024, Dr. Rankin had basic and advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia through University of Pennsylvania with Dr. Perlis and Dr. Posner.
