Dr. Hicks provides evidence-based therapy for adults and adolescents located in New York and New Jersey to address a range of mental health concerns, including sleep/insomnia, anxiety, trauma, stress, adjustment, depression, perfectionism, obsessive-compulsive disorder, body-focused repetitive behaviors (skin picking, hair pulling), and ADHD/executive functioning challenges. Dr. Hicks has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i), Brief Behavioral Treatment for Insomnia (BBTI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavioral Activation (BA), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Comprehensive Model for Behavioral Treatment (ComB).
Dr. Hicks in New Jersey and New York and serves clients via telehealth. She is an in-network provider for Aetna and Quest and or can provide superbill receipts for clients to seek out-of-network reimbursement.
Dr. Hicks completed her doctorate at the APA-accredited Combined Clinical/Counseling Psychology PhD program at Utah State University. During her graduate training, Dr. Hicks sought a broad set of training experiences in a range of clinical settings including private practice, university counseling, integrated primary care, public hospital, Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital, community clinic, and an LGBTQ+ specialty clinic. Dr. Hicks completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Veterans Affairs Pittsburgh Healthcare System where she completed major rotations at the Trauma Recovery Center, the Center for Treatment of Addictive Disorders, and in Primary Care Mental Health Integration. Her minor rotation was focused on providing and facilitating LGBTQ+ health care and advocacy. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Emotional Health.
