Kasey McCracken, MPH, DNP, PMHNP-BC New! Featured
I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP), with a special focus on the treatment of insomnia. Since completing my doctorate over 10 years ago, my clinical practice has included working with individuals with a broad range of mental health disorders at both the VA and in the community using medication management and psychotherapeutic strategies (ACT and DBT). Throughout my time as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I have been struck by the relationship between sleep and mental health, across disorders, and the importance of addressing sleep to improve functioning and overall well-being. This interest led me to focus my practice on the treatment of insomnia, with specialized training in behavioral sleep medicine. In addition to CBT-I, I provide consultation on the effect of medications on sleep and can work with you to address your goals around the use of sleep aids (whether that be stopping medications or optimizing their use).
In addition to my clinical practice, I have a faculty appointment at the Oregon Health and Science University School of Nursing where I enjoy teaching graduate students who are training to be advanced practice providers in psychiatry and other specialties.
