Dr. Emily Harrington Featured
My interest in sleep medicine grew from training and working in medical settings with patients whose lives were shaped by chronic pain, illness, and neurological conditions. Again and again, I saw how disrupted sleep amplified suffering by worsening pain, mood, attention, and daily functioning, and how restoring sleep often became a turning point in healing. Sleep is not separate from health. It is foundational to it.
I completed my doctoral training in clinical psychology at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology and my postdoctoral fellowship in chronic pain and health psychology. Through this training and clinical experience, I developed expertise in helping people navigate the intersection of physical symptoms, emotional health, and everyday demands. My approach integrates behavioral sleep medicine with an understanding of how sleep is shaped by health conditions, nervous system patterns, and the demands of family, school, and work life.
