Jennifer Scheumann New! Featured
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist based in Newport Beach, California, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). I work with adults struggling with chronic insomnia, sleep anxiety, nighttime overthinking, stress-related sleep disruption, and persistent sleep difficulties. I offer in-person services in Newport Beach and telehealth throughout California.
What sets my practice apart is the integration of gold-standard CBT-I with psychotherapy. In addition to helping clients change the thoughts and behaviors that maintain insomnia, I help them address the stress, anxiety, and life transitions that can contribute to hyperarousal and interfere with restful sleep.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and highly individualized. I tailor evidence-based CBT-I interventions, including sleep scheduling, stimulus control, cognitive restructuring, and behavioral sleep strategies, to each client's unique needs and goals.
When appropriate, I collaborate closely with physicians, psychiatrists, and other healthcare providers to support coordinated care, including medication tapering and other sleep-related treatment decisions.
I am passionate about helping clients break free from the cycle of insomnia and rebuild trust in their body's natural ability to sleep. Together, we work to reduce fear around sleep, strengthen healthy sleep habits, and create lasting change.
Clients often describe me as compassionate, down-to-earth, and encouraging. My goal is not only to help clients sleep better, but also to help them feel more confident, resilient, and empowered in their daily lives.
