Dr. Nicole Moshfegh Featured
Dr. Nicole Moshfegh is a clinical and health service psychologist in California. She is the Founder and Director of We Rise Psychology, Inc. and the author of, “The Book of Sleep.”
Dr. Moshfegh specializes in providing culturally responsive, evidence-based care to adults and teenagers struggling with anxiety, insomnia, burnout, as well as chronic fatigue and stress. She has extensive training and experience in evidence-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
Dr. Moshfegh completed her clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior and received her doctoral and master's degrees in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University. Upon graduating, she became a clinical supervisor and instructor for the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UCLA, where she conducted research, taught courses, and provided supervision for numerous doctoral trainees. Dr. Moshfegh next helped to establish the first physician/physician-trainee wellness center at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. After many years serving in this role, Dr. Moshfegh has come to be known as the “doctor’s doctor” among many in the Los Angeles medical community. She is additionally an Adjunct Professor at Pepperdine University where she has taught graduate level courses on sociocultural bases of behavior.
Throughout her career, Dr. Moshfegh has provided treatment and coaching to thousands of diverse individuals, including leaders from various Fortune 500 companies and top healthcare institutions. She has led research on burnout, physician well-being, sleep, and sociocultural determinants of health/wellness. She is the author of The Book of Sleep: 75 Strategies to Relieve Insomnia.
She continues to raise public awareness on mental health issues through media engagement, appearing on various news outlets, podcasts, and magazines, and is passionate about helping people sleep better, feel better, and thrive.
