Larissa Tate, PhD Featured
Dr. Larissa Tate is a licensed clinical psychologist and received her first Master's Degree in Clinical Psychological Science from the University of Maryland. She then attended the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences for her Master's and Doctoral Degrees in Clinical Psychology. She completed her APA-accredited internship with the University of Alabama-Birmingham VA Medical Center Consortium. Dr. Tate is licensed in Maryland, New York, and Alabama.
Dr. Tate has extensive experience and training in a variety of settings, including sleep clinics, primary care, hospitals, outpatient mental health clinics, and inpatient medical units. In 2024, she ventured into private practice and specializes in the treatment of sleep disorders, including insomnia, sleep apnea, nightmares, and sleep-related anxiety. She provides evidence-based psychotherapies for these difficulties, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Exposure Relaxation and Rescripting Therapy (ERRT) for Nightmares, and CPAP Adherence Coaching. She also provides therapy for anxiety and trauma/PTSD and is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Written Exposure Therapy (WET) and uses these modalities working with these particular concerns.
Dr. Tate is especially passionate about working with those in high-stress professionals, including lawyers, healthcare providers, first responders, and military service members/Veterans.
