I’m a psychotherapist in private practice licensed in NY and NJ. I offer over a decade of experience, specializing in treating anxiety and insomnia. My own struggle with insomnia led me to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), and I was my own first CBT-I patient. It worked so well that I became a CBT-I practitioner. My patients also appreciate how well CBT-I works, and how quickly. In nearly all the patients I’ve treated for insomnia, there is a strong tendency for perfectionism. I found that enhancing core CBT-I with additional modules on mindfulness, relaxation and emotional regulation skills effectively addresses this issue. Dr. Schumpf is a certified Diplomate and recognized Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (A-CBT) specializing in the treatment of anxiety, mood disorders, and sleep disorders. Trauma, relationship issues, problems with assertiveness, coping with medical illness, and women’s health concerns are also among her areas of focus. Dr. Jamie Schumpf earned her doctorate (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology at Yeshiva University, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Montefiore Medical Center and her post-doctoral fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill-Cornell Medical College.
