Dr. Loomis received her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Maine in 1996. She completed her internship at the Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee and practiced at Lutheran Social Services and Rogers Memorial Hospital in Wisconsin. She became interested in treating sleep disorders in 2006, and in 2007, she received a mini-fellowship sponsored by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, which involved training at the New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. She received her Certification in Behavioral Sleep Medicine in 2010, and her Diplomate in Behavioral Sleep Medicine in 2019. Dr. Loomis served on the board of the Wisconsin Psychological Association from 2004-2013, and was president of the organization from 2010-2011.

My areas of specialty include insomnia and other sleep disorders, anxiety disorders, and depression, often with chronic pain or stress-related issues. I trained with Donn Posner, Ph.D., at Brown University's School of Medicine in an internship and subsequently in my post-doctoral training as well. I've taught psychology full time in a liberal arts setting for much of the last two decades, but recently expanded my private practice, when I left teaching last year.
